Professional Counseling and Therapy
At The CENTER, we provide a wide range of mental health treatment including marriage counseling, spiritual counseling, grief counseling, adjustment disorders, aging, anger management, parenting skills training, depression, anxiety, grief therapy, chronic illness, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, childhood sexual abuse, and substance abuse.
Treatment may be provided through individual, couple, family or group therapy.
Medication Management
Psychiatric consultation and medication services are also available at The CENTER.
Samaritan Resource Center
The Resource Center is a lending-library. We have resources available to clients and their support network of family and friends. Items include several topics of interest to our clients including information on:
- Bipolar Disorder
- Depression
- Autism
- Insomnia
- Schizophrenia
- Diabetes
- Heart Disease
- Nutrition
Wellness Clinic
Thanks to our professional volunteers, we have added a Wellness Clinic to the Resource Center. The wellness clinic includes 6 weeks of educational classes that teach clients how to reduce their risk of long-term side effects like heart disease and diabetes by lifestyle changes and focuses on 4 areas of education: Diet and Nutrition, Exercise and Fitness, Stress management and Smoking Cessation.
Psychological Assessment for Community Partners Program

This is a program The CENTER provides to help alleviate the health professional shortage in the Saint Joseph area. Under this program, community agencies contract with The CENTER to have psychological assessments provided in a determined number of weeks. The assessment interview will be conducted by one of The CENTER’s three licensed psychologists.
Psychological Assessments are provided for clients age 3 and up and include:
- Achievement
- Ability, Cognitive Functioning and Development
- Behavioral
- Biopsychosocial
- Personality
These assessments are provided for a wide range of psychological and adjustment disorders including: anxiety; attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; autism; depression; dissociative disorder; eating disorders; and post traumatic stress disorder; chronic fatigue syndrome; chronic pain and physical disability; life altering surgery and relationship problems.
Financial Assistance
The CENTER provides financial assistance for those who qualify based on a sliding scale. Clients are expected to pay a minimum co-pay. Financial assistance is available as long as there are sufficient funds. The CENTER also accepts all levels of Medicaid and Medicare.
